Cleared Accenture Skill interview by answering almost all the questions and received congratulatory mail for HR round and submitting all documents. Then after a week received a call from HR saying that due to some technical issue, the skills round will happen again and an online assessment was set up. In the assessment, questions which were not directly related to the profile were asked and then a rejection mail was received. Does this happen a lot?

Hey there!
I am a Masters Student majoring in Machine Learning. I am in my first semester and I am kind leaning to explore Data Science as well. Could any Professional Data Scientists help me out on getting started? What skills do I focus on? What kind of projects should I have on my portfolio?
I have tried looking this info out in the internet but its all overwhelming. Hoping to get some honest guidance here!

I will give you some tips as a Google interviewer.
1) focus on the questions being asked.
(It’s good to answer only to the question and not just talk in hope to get the right answer. Giving much more details than needed, it’s a minus for the interview. If you are unsure, if your answer was short or not, you can always ask the interviewer if he/she needs more information. Trust me, if he/she needs, will let you know for sure. )
2) Be yourself.
(Try to stay relaxed, positive and smile. First impression is always great. Of course not the outcome has nothing to do with the first impression.)
3) Prepare and study from YouTube, Google search and other sources about interview questions being asked and published.
4) Don’t try to cheat, or look from a second monitor any answers. We are really good at detecting that 😅
5) Good luck on your interviews
Thank you this is really useful. I have been watching lots of videos on google interviews. A bit overwhelmed honestly. Are the GCA interviews really that difficult?
Depends the interviewer. Some of them likes to do it difficult and some of them easier. But in general we have to follow some policies and some standards. And yes the selection is strict. Just prepare, focus, and be yourself.
