What are you making now? Tag 20-25% on that and ask for that
When I worked at a Morgan Stanley back in the days pre-consulting I have had 100% bonuses in terms of base salary. But then again those were pre-housing collapse days.
How I wish consulting even came close to those figures
most common title. Does anyone know what a reasonable number is to ask for? Or what to expect to get at the end of the year in terms of bonus? I have no idea if an average year there will mean a bonus of 10% of base, 25%, or 75%, etc
Don’t have much advice regarding base salary however given that you said product owner I’m guessing you’re looking at a position on a tech team or at Marcus. If so, I wouldn’t expect bonuses to be nearly as high as the typical banking bonuses which would be found in divisions such as securities/IB and trading. With this in mind, I’d push to get the most I could via base salary as opposed to relying on bonus too much.
However, this shouldn’t be a guessing game. If I were you, I would absolutely ask what the typical bonus range is for the position prior to providing a number. I’d be very surprised if they didn’t tell you.
Bonuses of 15-20% are very common in FS. Just ask your recruiter.
Hey OP did you end up getting any offer? What was the range?
