I’m just starting out in finance and trying to make my resume stand out, but I don’t have a ton of experience yet. I’ve interned at a small advisory firm and done some freelance financial analysis work, but it’s hard to know how to frame that for big finance jobs. How did you all make your resumes pop in the early stages of your career? Any tips for highlighting transferable skills that don’t involve years of experience?

My work gives us points/money for achieving certain activities such as exercising for 180 mins per week. I have my Apple Watch automatically sync with the app that tracks our activities and it works great. Problem is I started using NRC (Nike run Club) app for runs and it interferes with the Workout app on my Apple Watch and it doesn’t get tracked. Has anyone found a way for the NRC and Workout app to run simultaneously (pun intended)?

Can you name a firm (preferably NY office) that lets its associates work from a different country with no issues? The mid-size firm I’m currently at has been very flexible during covid but I’m looking to change firm (biglaw). Since my family is abroad I find it extremely valuable to be able to do this (I did this even before covid for a couple of weeks, twice a year). I’ve heard firms like Latham and Paul Weiss don’t allow it for tax reasons.

Hi! I started at a new company 2 months ago and while I’m really enjoying my job so far, I’m having a hard time gauging whether or not I’m doing a “good job.” My role seems to be always evolving, which is fine and I actually enjoy being a support to the greater marketing team, but I feel like I need better defined targets to make sure I’m meeting expectations. What’s a recent achievement (personal or professional) that you’ve experienced?

Had a first round interview scheduled for a large CPG brand. My interviewer never called me, and I emailed following up to confirm the call. It’s been over a day and no response. What is going on with recruiters? I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, but not even an email back saying “something came up” or “we’ve moved on” ? I’ve been ghosted after every final interview during my recent job search, but never had I been ghosted before even having the first call??

What did you do with your RSU’s after it vested? Did you keep it or was it sold and reinvest to another stock/fund/etf?

Anyone switched from Becker to Wiley and regretted it? I did and though I appreciate the bite-sized lectures, I don't enjoy it as much as Becker. My access for Becker expired already and I don't want to spend 2k again 😭 such a tough choice to make but I feel like I'm not getting what I need from Wiley.

I was offered a high net worth client associate position with fidelity. I have never worked in a call center environment.

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)?
