I'm looking for some kind of Japanese language classroom environment in the Santa Monica / West LA area.

I've been self-learning via Duolingo and other apps for the past year, and I've hit a wall. No problems with reading hiragana/katakana, doing all right with kanji.

I currently need classmates and an instructor to motivate me to memorize speaking phrases and practice active conversation. I know there are apps for this type of language exchange, but they're usually 1:1 matches and virtual.

I'm transitioning from teaching 8th grade mathematics at a public school to teaching a 7/8 self-contained classroom at a charter school.
Any advice for teaching mixed grade levels or multi subject is appreciated: scheduling, classroom setup, subject order, behavior management, etc. I'm struggling to find my rhythm with only 6 weeks before kids return.

I gained weight during my last relationship (probably around 30 lbs, and I’m 5’9”). Before my relationship, I felt like I could get any guy. I’m currently interviewing with a few top 10 firms and a couple top 100 firms for a mostly remote experienced associate/new senior role. Does anyone have any tips on virtual interviews and how to gauge the culture of the firm and if it really will be a good fit for you? I need advice on how to approach a raise request.

I am a software sales representative in the manufacturing space. My starting salary was $85,000 in 2015 I did not receive a raise until I asked for one three years later in 2018. The raise was 5%. I have not received a raise since the 5% raise I received in 2018. They granted me a $2000 one time bonus in 2021 when I asked for a raise. How do I request a raise and get one?

How do you get experience when no one will hire you? I wouldn’t mind hanging a shingle but I feel it’d be irresponsible to do so with no experience. Unlike all of my classmates, I never landed an internship/externship in law school - had only one interview. I was a PT law student, came from a CS background, and worked in IT throughout law school.
