McKinsey & Company I’m looking to leave EY for McKinsey & Company in the next year. I currently have a masters in finance and 3 yoe. Should I apply for an associate position or look at the senior analyst rank?

I am a fresher. Joined 8 months ago(full time employment since 4 months) My current position is software QA and I want to move into development or data analytics (preferably DA). What can I do to achieve this in my own company? Or do I have to switch jobs for a different role?

Relatively new in Big4 M&A advisory doing mostly integration work with some pre deal DD mixed in. I recently heard L.E.K. Consulting places well in MM PE but don't know much about them otherwise. Was interested if anyone had insight into whether a jump to their M&A or PE groups would be possible. In terms of background, I have an undergrad business degree from a T20 school and graduated a T14 law school as well.

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
