I’m making great money in sales, but honestly? I’m exhausted. I’ve been grinding it out in a high-pressure SaaS sales role for 3 years, constantly chasing quota, dealing with impossible pipeline expectations, and answering Slack messages at 10 PM. The money is great, but I can’t help but wonder…is there a sales job that pays well without completely running you into the ground? I don’t want to take a massive pay cut, but I also don’t want to feel like I’m always one bad quarter away from being fired.

Better to be in sale, burnt out and making money vs. being in sales, burnt out and making no money 🙃

You would probably find something with a lot less stress and more humane hours. But you probably wouldn't be making the same money. That's the thing, the reason you're well compensated is because you're willing to take the punishment other people won't. But if the stress is finally getting to you, put out some feelers and look around and see what else you can find.

How old are you, OP?

With all the love in my heart if you’re younger than 45 suck it up and keep going. If you’re around 45-50, make the transition into leadership somewhere.

Same here. I left SaaS for a smaller company with lower pressure and more realistic goals—still solid pay.

Yeah. If you can be lucky enough to get a DOD territory for pretty much any product that Oracle sells. You'll be in order taker at that point. The only work you'll have to do is keeping up on activities to make it look like you had a direct impact in any of your sales coming in.

Had a salary discussion with headhunter, who really lowballed me and told that the employer is not going to pay more than X.
The final interview is scheduled for tomorrow should I be expecting any salary negotiation during the final interview or after or is the number that I informally agreed to with a headhunter is set in stone?
How bad is it if I refuse to accept the offer? Will I be banned from working with that headhunting firm?
