Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

My probation was supposed to be of 6 months (i.e until June 2022), but today I received a notification in Workday that I have passed my probation.
How is this possible?
I was planning to resign within probation for 30days notice period. But now this happened. Will this change my notice period to 90days??

Why would they give it to you?
That doesn’t answer why they’d agree to give incentive money (which is what a bonus is) to an associate who is leaving. OP has no leverage to ask for this, they are leaving. Firms don’t give away money they don’t need to give.
The way to get a bonus you’d be leaving behind is to have the firm who wants to hire you pay you that bonus as an incentive to say yes.
Ordinarily, you ask your new employer to make you whole during compensation negotiations

It’s highly unlikely the firm you’re leaving will give you a prorated bonus. It’s more common for the firm you’re going to to give you a signing bonus to make up for your left behind bonus.
Pro
You can ask, firms will make you whole on bonuses but it’s usually part of the salary negotiation.
If you’ve already accepted your offer, that ship has sailed.

OP you are creative! I’ll give you that. Then I would laugh st your request for a prorated bonus when you are leaving my firm.
Never heard of a firm giving someone who is leaving a bonus. Why would they? Your new employer might agree to make you whole, that's what you should negotiate.
What do you mean by making you whole?
I would definitely not reach out to your old firm; it will look wildly out of touch. If you’d like a bonus from the new firm, then need to negotiate before accepting offer. If you’ve accepted offer, then you‘ve lost your leverage — you can cross your fingers for a prorated bonus but I wouldn’t expect one.
How does one negotiate for a bonus at the new firm? Do you base it on your bonus from last year?
I've heard of resignees getting EoY bonus although they had quit but because they were still technically there at bonus time and had great support from their partners despite leaving.
Right, but for future knowledge, do you base that request to be made whole on the previous year’s bonus?
Thank you all for your feedback.
In biglaw, you base it on market/getting an ordinary class year bonus. I’m not sure for firms where the bonuses aren’t market.
