Hey 🐠. Just got wind that I’ll be starting at Accenture and have received my choice of potential start dates. But both a practice lead/partner & recruiter have made mention of the possibility of starting sooner should I desire. Will my career take a hit for choosing to start as late as possible? -an anxious fish

Hi, I am considering a BIE role at Amazon vs a Business Intelligence Analyst Role at TF. Right now, my priority is more around work life balance, and both roles are virtual/remote. I am concerned about work life balance with amazon, and would want something more stable. I think there may be offshore calls with TF, but overall have heard good things about wlb. Also , pay package isn't a big priority for me right now. Any advice or recommendations? Thermo Fisher Scientific

Yes the promotions are little difficult in TFS. It will take 3-4 years for promotions. But there are IJPs and you can apply and move to ither divisions. But in your 1:1 you should keep asking your manager that you are expecting promotion so that they will know.
I was given CS my first year and told that my senior manager and the director wanted to promote me, but it was denied by the senior director due to short time in rank. Meanwhile people in adjacent departments get a promotion every year or two, so I guess it just depends who's making the decisions for your division. No one at the site here was promoted in the most recent cycle, but there have been a lot of layoffs.
