Im newish to Thermo Fisher Scientific but trying to understand the promotion cycle. It seems vertical career moves within Thermo are much more difficult than diagonal. When you are looking to move up a career band how often has that movement actually happened vertically in the team or group you work in?

Has anyone here ever been brought on as an associate to build a new practice area/group at a firm? What did you do to succeed?

What are some good exit opportunities from restructuring? Is it possible to get into M&A etc once qualified ACCA?

I'm being paid 40% more than what I signed.

I thought about what would happen once compensations talks come up or even raises.

What would happen in my case would they lower it or keep it the same or agree to a raise?

Spent the last 5 years with my company, primarily in operations. Looking to get into project management and get some certifications.

Can anyone enlighten me to their experiences with project management roles? Some pros and cons perhaps?

Currently 6 years at job A at 100K and 10K annual bonus but lil to no upward mobility. It's safe if not going anywhere.

Recruiter reached out regarding Job B at 130K with greater advancement potential but it starts out at 6 Months Contract to Hire per the agency contract. No bonus, benefits adequate by comparison. There is no guarantee to go full time.
