Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

Hi!
I have 7+ years of experience in small business management and operations within the Hospitality Industry (franchised motels).
For these last four years, I've been a technician in semiconductors (to have health insurance and actual income).
What side job can I start that can bloom into a real business? Is there a way to get an online business that I can manage from home for 3-4 hours every day?
Amway/MLM is not being considered as I am not a good salesperson.

How are you finding candidates?
It seems like you need to optimise some back of house processes. You can DM me to discuss further . I may be able to provide you with solutions and answer additional questions.
For loyal team members offer more than the competition. Offer more benefits, and/or better hours, and/or higher pay.
I offer great hours for working mom’s so they are happy and I don’t have competition for them to look to. (7 am - 1 pm most days).
I also always provide break room snacks, write frequent thank you notes/shoutouts, give bi-annual reviews/raises that match or exceed inflation, an end of year bonus and have nice team meals with plus ones invited twice a year.
In the end a reliable staff is worth the extra pay. You can ask more of their responsibilities as they progress.
I always think back to what I would’ve wanted from my boss when working minimum wage / entry level jobs.
Thank you! Reading this I am realizing I've been slacking on employee appreciation/communicating to make sure everyone's comfortable and happy. I think I've been taking too much of a backseat role once the hiring process is over.
What type of work are these roles doing?
Mostly just watching over the gallery, running transactions, and communicating with artists. A bit of event scheduling and once a month we get a small shipment so a bit of unloading and organizing them. It's not a difficult position in my opinion, but I understand that it isn't the most interesting job especially for students.
^^ benefits are essential, why would someone work for you when they can go down the street where they’re getting retirement and healthcare. I always recommend to start w a SIMPLE IRA (At ADP, the plan only costs $40/month). Also, not to be sales-y, but ADP also comes with ZipRecruiter, might help find workers too!
This is a great idea, thank you!
Curious to see how to get something solid on hiring.
Hello, could you please confirm what is the available position for this job?
People suck! I say that as someone who has worked in recruitment for 15 years! Okay, broadly speaking you need to splash some cash on a job board, get adverts up in the shop window, hit some local community boards and social media platforms. Get aggressive about advertising the role. I can think of 10 platforms/channels where a small business can go. Next, question for you…how long do you expect to hold a $15 p/h employee? 6 months? Longer might be a bonus. So relax! Accept that behind every great business is a pile of ex employees! Experience and making some wrong decisions is the best education here.
