Looking for some advice.. Manager left, I was given their work. Promoted few months after, but not to the role of my previous manager. Rec opened, I applied, didn't get it. We hired the new person and in my hopes to offload some of that original work back to them. I was told I'm going to continue to do everything my previous manager was doing. I'm still not a product manager even tho my previous manager was and the new manager is. Applying to jobs and concerned my title is holding me back.

I’m a non-TX immigration attorney mentoring a UT student who went to my undergrad. He’s done incredibly well in OCI and pre-OCI. Hi guys, After CAF completion by last week, yesterday I received a call from the HR for the second round of evaluation. Few tips for looking at exits:

1) Referrals are a huge tool for getting your foot in the door. At Facebook it guarantees that atleast your resume is given more than a glance.

2) A well constructed story/resume can offset any weak points in your experience

Is Salesforce on a hiring freeze for all positions? I feel like I still see postings for openings going up?

Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers? I have a counter offer from my current company and on-site interviews scheduled for end of July with google and Amazon, but I’d prefer to go with the smaller local company if I can negotiate the salary (from offer letter) up another 5% or so.

I like to apply for Product Manager roles at Amazon since I like the role. I have done front office CRM (SAP) implementations for Fortune50 clients through Accenture.
It is more of sitting with users to understand their process and map it to CRM suite and build additional features to map their specific processes.
I have also worked on sales, BD and functional spec creation for new features.
Can I count these as Product Management experience while applying for Amazon or other Faangmula?

Is there such a thing as getting promoted TOO quickly? Just got the bump to AS after 10 months as an AE. Not at all typical at my agency (usually 5 to 8 YOE). I picked up a lot of opportunity after turnover last year. I am, of course, thrilled, but do wonder if it'd put the validity of my agency in question when looking at my resume. Am I crazy? Is there such thing as a true account role at major branding agencies? Ex. Interbrand, Landor, Pentagram...Sounds like in many cases it’s actually just PM under a different name.

I want to quit without a job lined up. My agency is a dumpster fire of incompetent project managers, revolving door of creatives and culture of not holding people accountable amidst a micromanaging gossipy leadership. I just want out. Tell me it is ok and will be alright.

Career advice that I give to the people I manage- do one more thing everyday that you weren’t going to do or didn’t feel like doing- for your team or for your client. Could be notes, a follow up, a reminder, raising your hand to tackle and drive something-whatever. That little extra effort against something you didn’t “have” to do, every day, overtime will make you invaluable
