It's not worth it. Please take good care of yourself.
I was in your situation just 2 weeks ago. I had a one on one with my project leadership and said, I need someone take to x and y off my plate. Here is the transition plan, I need you to identify someone and I will train them on it but I need it to be transferred to someone or multiple people if need be by the end of next month. I regret the short notice but I realized these 14 hour days are why I’ve been getting migraines and I simply can not sustain it any longer. They are currently working to make that happen and told me next time to bring it up earlier.
It took me a long time to figure out that I’m the one who controls how much I work. And I found that when I started saying no and limiting things, my ratings actually went up. No idea why, I definitely do less. Maybe I’m just friendlier and happier for people to be around so they rate me higher? Your guess is as good as mine. But the moral of the story, start pushing to move a deadline out another day, or to delegate something to someone else who has more bandwidth. You’ll find this job is much more pleasant and sustainable
Learn to say no. Everyone can work 14-16 hour days (for a while), the art is in getting it down to 10.
Learn to be faster or manage upward on what realistic expectations are
Have you seen a neurologist about the migraines?
