I tell all my coachees that if you're relying on your resource manager to staff you, you're doing it wrong. It's up to you to find your own opportunities.
At EY it is
It could just be that it's harder to get staffed around the holidays.
That sounds like a holiday thing with fed
This is a strategy at EY?!? I call bullshit
This is a strategy at KPMG. If everyone doesn't like oh they won't staff you unless someone outside your service line needs someone desperately. If you don't get staffed you don't get promoted / bonus they hope you'll just leave but if you just linger eventually you get the cut.

Not sure how much severance that would be if you were to be laid off. Could be 4 to 6 weeks at some employers.
Sometimes it's just. It a good time to get staffed. Why are you blaming leadership and your RM? Look at what you've done and what can you do better.
There has to be a good reason, like a proposal about to be won but they can't do that forever. If you get staffed you get staffed. Go find your own opportunity
@P2 Nope, if you're not staffed, blame falls solely on you.
Would there be a severance in this scenario?
Yes. How long have you worked there?
How long on the bench?
4 weeks, starting week 5 monday
Service line? (Some are more happening than others right now)
Analytics, fed
Hmm OP don't know your RM. Federal clients typically spending money early Nov through calendar year end? Were there late summer / fall campus hires? Have you been here for more than a year? Oct - Jan ALWAYS seem a little hairy when it comes to staffing.
Happened to me
What are the signs that this is happening?
