Have a backup plan. Always.
I hated my last job, picked whatever shitty place I could find and joined there, continued applying, and finally found a job I like and am moving on!!
As someone who has been laid off a few months now. I was at an agency I hated. But I’m learning now that there were at least 100 things I could have done to make my life just a little better at work.
Agree with all here and have a backup plan but make sure to flip those stones at your current agency to make sure you truly wanna leave. Good luck!
Yes please. As ACD1 said
Omg you are me. But for me, I was finally let go. And now am looking for a new gig HAPPILY. I feel liberated. But before, yeah, I would wake up and stew from 2A-4:30AM about how I was treated. Hope things turn around for OP and all the writers enduring disrespect in exchange for rent money.

This can be easier said than done, but make sure you have an escape plan/safety net in the form of 6+ months rent if you find yourself at the point of just not being able to stand the job hatred for even one more day (I’ve been there). Also, obviously, keep networking and applying non-stop. In the meantime, care just enough about this current position to keep the engine running without investing too much time/energy/effort into it. It’s a paycheque right now, not a long term commitment.
Keep reaching out to connections. Not just about how miserable you are - just so you’re top of mind.
Been doing that regularly, so hopefully something shakes out soon

Jumping from one agency you hate to another agency you hate = a career in advertising, basically. Rest assured, the day will come when you’ll find your way into another agency, full of hope at the outset that it will be better than the last, only to be similarly disappointed in time. Ad agencies have all become minor variations on the same, desperate enterprise.
Possibly you can talk to your supervisor and work toward changing accounts. I did this earlier this year and it helped.
Aside from professional exploration, consider personal hobbies/outings that give you something to look forward to after work. It’s easier said than done but another way to help boost your mood as you navigate the awful market
First of all, don't noticeably show that you're unhappy at work. That's a sure way of getting fired or let go. Unfortunately, you'll have to pretend you're happy to keep your job.
In the meantime, you'll have to do some soul searching and figure out what you dislike about your job specifically? Is it the industry itself (maybe move from agency to in-house)? Is it the size of the place? Do you hate presenting? Do you want to work on bigger or smaller clients? Is it the type of work? Is it process? Is it the client?
Once you figure that out, you'll be able to map out a game plan on next steps.
What do you hate? The clients? The coworkers? The opportunities?

I’m sorry you feel miserable. I think a lot of us creatives have been here before.
It took me a long time to realize that tying my identity and self worth to my career was making me really unhappy. Having a lot of passion for the integrity of my work made me combative and inflexible at times and caused me a lot of unnecessary pain.
I don’t know what the root of your issues are and I don’t want to assume, but for me it was just disengaging a bit from my career. It’s just a job, and it fuels the things I’m actually passionate to do. I was so loyal to the companies I worked for, but they gave zero shits about me. I’ve been through so many layoffs.
I set better boundaries, I focused on self care. I still do good work, but if the client hates all my ideas, it no longer bothers me. It’s just a paycheck.
Don’t flush afterwards
Stay.
Stay.
Stay.
Now read the above 10 more times. I have been trying to get a better offer for last 6 months but no luck. Market is super bad!
Change will come. Better or worse. If you aren’t making work you like fill your cup in other things. Keep reaching out to peeps and be patient. Like 6 months to a year plus patient. It doesn’t happen overnight until it does. It just takes one new opportunity to change everything.
