Need a referal for automation testing openings
I have also recently cleared all interview rounds in TCS & HR Shared 'Salary Breakup'. Still, my status in the iBegin portal is not changing from 'Evaluation in Progress' to 'Evaluated' & so on, even after uploading all required documents. They had initiated the process 2 times, 1st on 16th Nov and 2nd on 24th. Please let me know, how long it will take to release the final offer letter. Thanks

If I'm being completely honest, my ego would be a little bit bruised that they picked somebody else over me, but I would still go for it because it's clear I was their second choice, and they still kept me in mind, and a job is a job. Plus it's a promotion and it would be silly to turn that down because of a bruised ego. I would take it as an opportunity to prove that I was worthy of being the first choice, not the second, and work hard.
CFO1, that’s not funny..
So it’s still a promotion? I would take it. Why not?
It's never happened to me, but I'd be fine with that scenario. These things are always a competition, and there's no telling why someone else could have edged me out the first time around. But, it would mean I must have been a strong enough candidate that they offered me the new position. I'd take it and say thank you.
CFO1: I can assure you with 100% certainty that even when you ended up first choice in your last job search, there was someone with a better profile than yours somewhere - they just did not apply (call it luck?).
With the above in mind: no, it should not feel like a slap in the face and it should not decrease your confidence. Future profitability depends on how you perform in the new role.
The candidate was just lucky that another position for which they were qualified just opened up.
I’d probably feel a mix of “wait, what?” but also grateful for the second chance. I’d want to make sure the role and conditions are clear, and I’d ask why I wasn’t first choice initially, just to have a better understanding. If it’s a solid opportunity and feels right, I’d say yes, but only after making sure it’s not a consolation prize with strings attached.
Do u work in bank
I had a similar situation to this recently.
I do work in a bank. A position became and the general attitude within the conpany was that they didn't think I wanted the job, so they weren't going after me.
Another person in the bank came to me asked amd I told them yes I wanted it. Amd their attitude on me did a 180 and they took me into account every step of the way there on.
I can understandbyou not being their 1st thought, but the main question is fo you want the job?
If so, it's a no brainer, take it. And the fact that they offered to you straight up without any BS is a positive sign.
Recently had this happen but I was the hiring manager had a very limited amount of people we could hire for the role and one of our yes people couldn’t be hired provided them with feedback on how they could elivate themselves and what they could do going forward to stay in consideration. They had a great attitude about it and took the feedback and ran with it. A couple of weeks later they gave us more headcount and that person was called immediately and offered the role before we set up nor interviews. It’s not personal it’s just numbers 5 yes for 4 slots so one is going to get a no it’s how that no responds that is the best indicator of their ability to succeed

Who is to say they didn't expand because they wanted you as well. Not sure why there is a question or hesitation here. Unless they are withholding the compensation increase...
My first reaction would be they didn’t know there would be another opening in 2 weeks? Thats pretty bad planning.
Most companies do annual plans with semi-annual or quarterly updates. Staffing plans are part of that process.
Now, it is possible that they had an unexpected resignation which opened up the position. In that case its great they thought of you.
Being second choice when there are 2 openings makes a difference only if you don’t take the opportunity.
The fact they don’t want to interview further is testament to how good they think you are. If they weren’t sure they would have interviewed again.
I went through something similar in the past, but instead of a second role being created, the first-choice candidate had to withdraw.
That made me the first choice :)
It was a few months after in my case, but the same scenario otherwise. I took it because it was a good opportunity and I realize that even though I am exceptional, there are always people out there who have more experience or another edge. So coming in second and getting the next opening was a welcome surprise. It led to a series of great career moves for me.
Mine is a bit different. I applied to a position externally and at some point in the interview process, I was told we are four finalists. After the final interview, they moved on with someone else. Two weeks later, they came back to make me an offer. I didn't think it twice and I accepted their offer at the spot for the following reasons:
It aligned with the flexibility my family needed due to the nature of my partner's job schedule.
The pay was more than what I requested for in total package and almost 75% more than I was currently earning (this included bonus and stock earnings which I wasn't getting at my previous place).
In essence, you know your situation and how this fits more. As for the ego, put it aside. Ego doesn't put food on your table.
Do work in bank ??
This can and does happen often.
Sometimes a company recognizes that they need a new role ( or they hire someone who had that role in their previous organization). Across the organization they may need multiple people for the role. However HR doesn’t want it to be a free for all or management Believes that one department might be disadvantaged for other reasons ( role X is also going to be available in a more attractive location ).
