Does anyone have any insight into accounting roles at Amazon, particularly in the Arlington/DC area? An Amazon recruiter reached out about accounting roles, but the posts in this bowl are about Seattle. Trying to decide if the culture/wlb/pay is even worth looking into since it sounds like the interview process is intense. Base pay seemed pretty low in other posts, but they were a year old and for Seattle.

Your first six months at a new place always blows. You’re learning all the institutional knowledge and feeling like you know nothing. After 6-8 months, you’ll know a lot more and feel better.
Yeah honestly same when you leave public accounting at a senior associate level
What role did you leave for and what level did they hire? Agreed with above that it takes at least 6 months to figure it out. Leverage your relationship with your auditor and those around you. You may not always be expected to know the answer, but to have a perspective.
Left for a SM role at a tech company. :) thank you for the kind words/suggestions!
Almost same case here. cant find a better role than an SM and Im still applying outside. I will hit my second year as SM this August. Hope it wont be too late for me.
Hang in there! I am in month 10. I feel much more comfortable than I was even at 6 months. People who came before me said it takes 12 months to get your bearings in the organization. I think they are right.
