You can focus on the fact that’s it cold and windy and you don’t want to be there.
Or you can focus on the fact that your dad has made it to 60, this is how he wants to celebrate, and would be grateful if you came with.
I don’t think you’ll regret going, but you very will might regret *not* going.

You my friend need a trip to REI or similar and you need drop $150 on some solid base layers. Great for staying warm but also thermoregulation. Always in the zone. You need some smartwool, icebreaker, Patagonia capilene. Top and bottoms. Buttons are important. Hat. Vest. Eddie Bauer is always having 40-50% sales.
Gear up.
You should go. Life is too short. Make the best out of it and enjoy your family.
My father arranged a deep sea fishing event and I went with my son and brother in laws. My brother did not go because he was more interested in not doing anything nice for anyone and to be a disagreeable human being (2 failed marriages, etc.). It will reflect poorly on you if you don’t go.
Reminds me of this song …
You can tell your old man
You'll do some largemouth fishing another time
You just got too much on your plate to bait and cast a line
You can always put a rain check in his hand
'Til you can't
Well when he’s dead you can at least remember what you did while he was out celebrating his 60th. Which is probably sitting on this app asking about salaries.
Imagine looking back on this post when your parents have passed away and wishing you could hear their voices again
As someone who's mom was an avid fisherman and who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in her early 70s, I'd give anything to freeze my butt off with her on a fishing trip today.
My father passed young also. I'd give ANYTHING to be able to freeze on a boat with him.
Just go man...

Just go dude
Just go
It depends, it might be about spending time with your dad, not about the activity, Do you see him often? My dad is abroad and I haven't see him for years, that is why I have that perspective. :)
My dad died at 65 - suddenly - what I wouldn’t do to spend time with him doing ANYTHING!! If you don’t go you’re one selfish SOB. I said what I said.
It's not about you. Get over yourself and show up for your dad. Wear layers you big baby.
Just go it will mean a lot to your dad.
Please go. Tough it out. You won't regret it.
It’s about your dad that weekend, not you. Change your perspective to “you get to go” rather than you “have” to go. It’s all in the way you approach it.

So OP, did you go?
Wear the right clothes and just go dude.

Agree with a lot of the comments here, treasure the time you get with family or it’ll be your biggest regret. Suck it up and cherish the moments. Times like these are when core memories are created, you never know how long anybody has left, I wish I’d been able to spend more quality time with my grandad but him living abroad and only seeing him every couple of years is one of my biggest regrets
Just dress warm and spend time with your dad on his birthday.
You can do warm indoor things on your 60th bday.
You're under no obligation to do anything you don't want to do. Be assertive. The guilt comes from attempts at emotional manipulation.
Emotional manipulation????? He asked them to go FISHING! Geezus you people are horrible
