Thoughts on big 4 boomerangs?
Hi fishes, How are the projects & future of data science in EY GDS tech consulting? Is it risky to join considering most of the Indian companies are not that good in data science projects outcomes. Some are targetting unrealistic task and applicability of AIML to every unrelevant field. Is it going to be challenging for someone who is from nontech background & joining tech team with not at all software develping experience. Is it possible to cope up with team? Suggestions would help a lot. EY
How's the hike folks !!

Stating it is a layoff and then giving a reason that is clearly defined as not being qualified is odd in and of itself. If they defined it as a layoff, then they are stating to unemployment that you are eligible to collect and that they will call you back at a later time if and when the need exists. I will say that if they ever do attempt to call you back, you might want to think long and hard about whether you should accept or not. Are you stating their reasons to potential employers when they ask why you left? If you are and you don't agree with having a lack of interviewing skills, then obviously, you don't need to share this. Did they give you the training and support necessary to fulfill these needs? Sorry. I have all sorts of questions about this entire scenario as a whole, obviously.
I am really sorry you are going through this. I know some very well-qualified HR professionals who are currently in the same boat as you, and like others have said, it's a very tough market right now. It might seem like things are hopeless at times, but don't give up. Remember to take short breaks for your own well-being and peace of mind before plugging away again. You will eventually find where you are meant to be. Break a leg! (just in case you are superstitious about the luck word. haha)
Not cool and not legal. They can't "lay you off", make up some lame excuse as to why they let you go (performance issues are not part of a layoff), and then replace you with someone who is unqualified, female, younger, and white. If it is classified as a layoff, then you are supposed to be called back when the need arises. They can't legally replace you until and unless you refuse the call back due to finding a new job elsewhere. I hope you at least were able to collect unemployment. (Assuming you are in the US)
Have you spoken to a lawyer? The first consultation is usually free.
I am sorry to hear that. The job market is really rough right now. I have been looking for 8 months and haven't been able to find anything. Hang in there and keep applying.

Does your resume reflect your accomplishments, or merely your tasks? In other words, is it just a copy-and-paste of your job descriptions, or do you have in there the positive impacts that you had in your 19 years of experience?
Reduced benefits costs or improved benefits without adding expenses? Reduced turnover? Reduced the cost of filling jobs? Things like that.
Sorry. I wrote female by accident.
I was laid off Dec 24 and just accepted an offer. It’s very rough out there. Network and don’t rely on job boards or that a job is even posted.
