In late stage interviews for GS, BCG, and three F500s. I’m a year and a half into my career, the F500s all pay base of 200+ but I know the branding of MBB/GS looks better, but pays 50k less base and WLB will be a lot worse. What are some things to consider? Leaning towards F500 due to pay (so I can invest in rental properties) and because I’m starting MBA next fall as part of a deferred entry program. l know I can always get an MBA and join MBB/GS post grad, since salary progression is quicker.

How many years in FDD are you expected to be a senior before being promoted to manager at your firm?

Had my annual review Friday (first year with the company). Boss awarded a 3% raise though she said my review was “90% positive.” Worth adding I got a 3% sign on bonus last year, so I’m basically at 0% raise. Nobody under me has gotten less than a 7% raise in the past year. Considering promotions + counter offers as well, it goes as high as 25%. I don’t feel a 3% raise matches a “90% positive” review and plan to bring up the cognitive dissonance I’m feeling. Any other tips or advice to add?

Anyone have slow months where you burn through a lot of your allotted pro bono/professional development hours to keep hitting minimum daily hours? The past few weeks have been like this for me. Should I be concerned (I.e., will this reflect poorly on me, come review time? Will I have dug myself too much of a hole if I keep burning my non-billable hours?) So… two months ago I started a gig as a CD. Good agency. Very talented people. Pretty quickly I realized that my new job is kinda about keeping up with incoming emails/teams messages. I can’t handle it. For the last month I have been sleeping in, getting out of bed after 11am, like I prefer. Those notifications start coming at around 8am and all I do is press those suggested replies on teams, not even half awake, pretty much still dreaming, and it works. I’m getting lots of good feedback.
