I applied with EY for a Senior Manager role I had my first stage interview with a senior manager, which I thought went well as I got the partner interview 2 weeks later, and said I'll be contact within 10 day HR. This did not happen so I chased up. Today I received feedback from HR stating that the senior manager, who would have been my peer, said I didn't have enough experience. But the partner who I would have been working under did like me.
Is this normal with EY recruitment
Had a bad showing for case interview about a month ago. I knew the material i just straight up had a bad day. Took feedback in exit interview and feel prepared to reapply for a different role with no cool off time… should I still wait or shoot my shot?
Asking as I am curious if my app will be flagged as I just applied to another role recently.EY-Parthenon

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I like the firm, but you my good man clearly have an IV of that Kool aid coursing through your veins!
Just avoid
Ask directly how the cost of transportation and accommodation will be handled and you'll be happy to work with them on scheduling the time that works for everyone. Or you are happy to do a Skype call. They should pay and they should be buying the ticket and making the hotel reservation in your name. Don't fall for getting reimbursed by them later.
Definitely dont pay for your own travel for an interview
Maybe a red flag, maybe just one clueless hiring person. Ask directly, and if they don't know, as them to find out.
Why are you all assuming he isn’t doing well? Maybe he just wants a different structure to work under?
Red flag. No way
Yes, a lot of them do.
I think most do. Part of acquisition expenses.
I say if you’re interviewing to leave jones just save yourself the heartache and stay
Who even said it's a he?
I was taking it as he/she was interviewing for a position with Jones in a different city. As in possibly a succession plan. OP, can you clarify whether or not the interview is internal or external? If it’s internal and you are just flying to the town to meet with the current advisor, you know damn well the firm isn’t paying for that.
Is the new position with Jones? Or are you leaving for another firm?
I would assume that that's normal!! Do other companies pay for your flight and hotel?!
If you won’t make it at Jones you need to evaluate your ability to do the work necessary to succeed in the business. A firm is not going to be why you succeed or fail. It’s all based on effort and hard work. Maybe you’re interviewing for a different job? That would make more sense.
He’s not doing well.
Didn’t I hear that Jones was shedding FA’s like a dog in the desert?
@FA4 - Jones’ attrition rate for 2017 is around 7%. That is for everything - leaving for other firms, but also retirement, medical issues, etc. That is down from about 9.5% in 2016.
We lost about 275 advisors to the competition and of those only 80 were grossing more than $275k.
Not sure where you are located that you are seeing Jones advisors leaving, but in my Region we lost 1 to the competition in the last year and added 3 from competitors coming over to Jones. Including complete newbies, Jones is up by 875 advisors firm wide as of the end of September.
