I have an initial recruiter phone interview with Square Thursday. Is it it just a phone call or is it a video call and they didn’t specify. If it’s a video call what’s the dress code like? I’m coming from consulting so all my interviews were in suits. Any tips to get past the recruiter phone screen?

It’s required to inform the engagement partner when seeking employment with a client, which is prior to actually receiving an offer. Ive never been on the engagement team for that client. I know it’s awkward to tell them which is why I’m trying to go about it in the right way. I was thinking of waiting until after talking to the controller because I’ll have a better idea what my odds are of actually getting the job. If it doesn’t go well I might just not tell the partner and pretend it never happened
You should first make sure you're not violating any potential non-compete/non-disclosure agreements by joining a client. I think you should disclose after you get an offer. If you tell the partner before that stage, you plant a seed in his or her mind that you're looking to leave.
In that case, it seems like you can still interview and get a sense of whether they would make an offer before notifying the partner. If they allude to making an offer and you're likely to take it, then you can notify him or her.
i think you only have to disclose if its a client you’re on since itd be an independence issue otherwise id say ur gooood
Regardless of how well it goes, controller will be letting the partner know one way or another. If you don’t want your firm to out, don’t interview there
That I’m doing this (or have done this), so she’s aware? I’m debating if she would see this as a positive thing that I’m aware of and following the rules, and that I’m serious about the job, or if she wouldn’t care or think it’s appropriate. Have any of you experienced this? What did you do?
Thanks for your input! I agree I think that’s probably the best way to go about it
Good luck!
