Agency side - not worth it. You’ll see plenty of people in the C suite without advanced degrees. Client side - absolutely needed. I’ve been client side 2x and [at many places], MBAs are very highly regarded and a requirement for advancement. I have a masters in stats from a top university and still was made to feel inferior to those with MBAs.

If you plan to stay in media, it’s not worth it. We don’t get paid more or promoted sooner with a grad degree. If you want to go client side and into a marketing role, then it’s probably a good thing to consider!

I’ve been in media agency side for less than two years. So I’m not sure if I’ll tire out of it long term. I had considered client-side as an option down the line. For the short-term I know I’ll be staying with an agency for the next few years.

Funny how some firms have analysts at entry level that then get promoted to consultants, and others vice-versa. Wonder if it affects exit-opportunities at all 😛
