Is anyone a recent or current Georgetown Tax LLM graduate? If so, do you mind sharing your outlines with me? Does the school have an outline bank? Also, do you have any tips for preparing for the program? I have only taken one tax course, and I am kind of nervous about it. Thanks.

Hey recent Georgetown LLM grad here- I don’t have much in the way of outlines to share but just know that there is an outline bank and many professors use slides and give out practice exams to help your study. I’m guessing you took Income Tax I as your one tax class? What made you want to jump into tax? You may have a bit of a difficult adjustment your first semester without having taking corporate and partnership tax classes in the jd program as many of your classmates will have already taken those classes and perhaps more but you can overcome that. Usually I think pre-studying before the program is a waste of time but you may benefit from reading some tax primers this summer before you start. Good luck!

The SBA (student bar association) has an outline bank, they are a bit light in terms of LLM ones but they are adding constantly. You should have emails from them linking to it.

I need valuable suggestions from you all! I want to migrate to Canada and settle the after getting a PR. I am an associate looking for masters degree in analytics or management field. Budget is limited but can extend it till 35L INR. Tam only considering courses with duration of atleast 16 months so that I get PGWP (Work Permit) of 3 years which would improve my chances of PR.

1. Is this a approach correct ?

2. Any suggestions about course or university ?

Has anyone dealt with stuffing allocation in a non-hedge fund context? It seems even in the HF world the law is fuzzy in using aggregate reverse 704c principles in stuffing allocations. Like, sure, the market is there but no authority really blessed it (other than some Cravath partner’s article in Tax Notes in 2013). If we are talking asset class that isn’t really like marketable securities but might be able to treat it similarly solely by virtue of, say, valuation on a quarterly basis (contd)
