Pros - you get to zero in a specialty. I'm not super familiar with commercial excellence, tbh, but the value add of the BCN is to have cheaper specialist consultants. You also get the Bain name on your resume and wonderful co-workers once the offices reopen. If you get the job, DM me and I'll share some tips.
Cons - potentially tough WLB. Unstructured. Odd hours due to time difference. Pay is lower than the general consultants.
More detail on cons:
It's a bit unstructured/ disorganized as they're building out these roles in the US and Europe. You'd likely be the only commercial excellence manager in the US. Bain is struggling to build out support structure here, but the good news is they've identified it as an issue. This has been one of the driving forces for poor retention - everyone in the ZBB and PEG practice basically left or transferred to a different department.
As far as hours go - you work with folks in India. This means early mornings or late nights. Or both as you're setting up a case.
Unlikely you could switch to the general consulting pool, at least haven’t seen that happen before
Forgot to mention - benefits and perks are the same as the consultants :)
