Meta technical solutions consultant interview prep - can someone let me know if they have gone through the technical rounds for Technical Solutions Consultant role? Can you share what to prepare for since it’s not a data science type of role so most likely not hard level MySQL questions. Any specific types of queries that I should learn? Thanks!

Depends on your goals. If your goal is to break out of accounting asap and go to a more “finance-based” role like IB, FP&A or Corp Dev then yes it’s the best path. If you’re after money then FDD generally pays more than other public accounting roles. If you want WLB then no stay away from it.
Would have preferred starting in FDD than audit for sure.
Considering I’ve seen A1 and A2 leave as early for BB/EB IB, yes FDD is definitely the best place to start if you have any intention of doing IB/finance.
Auditing is not required….. you can train FDD associates from the ground up. Anyone who tells you that was probably an auditor before and wants to validate/affirm their previous experience.

I've always held the same sentiment.
The "you need audit experience" cloud surrounding FDD has always been highly over rated to me!
If you can get in straight from university then it definitely is a good spot. You could always move more towards a raw accounting role (especially w/ getting a CA/CPA) or move to FP&A. But like the other comment, WLB isn’t fantastic, at least a light audit busy szn most of the year
I would recommend doing audit for a year or two first
KPMG 1 - my perspective is more from being the assigned coach for new hires. Transfers from audit have a higher success rate in my experience.

Everyone saying u need to start in audit are just salty that they had to start in audit lol
did audit internships (didn’t learn much) and started in fdd out of college, would have liked to learn my basics from the internships. not worth spending 1-2 years in audit for the transition if you can get fdd from the start. much better to just get grinded your first few months to learn proactively
