If it’s free, maybe.
If you have to pay 200k for it then I want you to do the math and see if you still hold this opinion.
To be fair a lot of the math he needs to do to figure this out is taught in business school
Nope I'd just apply that effort to your current role and kick more ass

An MBA is mostly for career resetting. Don't waste your easy reset button
Yeah this is the thing I worry about. I vaguely want an MBA, but worry that (1) it's important not to waste the reset button, and I don't really know precisely what I'd want to do instead/how I'd use it to pivot, especially when I already work at the company I want, and (2) I'm approaching 30, and there eventually comes a point where you've sort of missed your chance to use the reset button.
Narrow paths when it could. If you can quantify the earnings growth (some companies equate masters with years of service as an example) and the cost (company paid, opportunity cost if taking time off verse weekends/night programs, etc.). Otherwise it is almost certainly better to double down as other person said, switch jobs, or other compensation growth strategies.
Just create a model and have a target goal in mind
In your current trajectory, how long will it take you to cross 300k TC with b-school (100% increase from 150k base) MBA vs. without keeping in mind the - earnings you”ll have with b-school if you are paying for it
Or if sponsored take into account 2 years loss of earnings
Luckily if targeting MBB/Tier 2, IB at BB, VC, or big tech majority of the comp info is well documented and you can project out 5-6 years

Think very well about the opportunity cost, you will not get income for 2 years (lets say 250k at least) plus you will pay 100k+ for the MBA to make.. how much more per year? Will take you a long time.
You could also argue that 2 more yoe instead of MBA will get you the pay increase nonetheless.
