Is hiring an admissions consultant worth it if you have below average stats (~3.5 gpa, 324 GRE) while applying to a top 5 school (e.g. HBS) but have a good story (I was the first person from my small public high school to attend Dartmouth, athlete, tap danced competitively even though I’m a guy, lots of volunteer work, went through Y Combinator, and built a company from my basement to a $30M+ valuation). In round 1 I got a MIT interview, don’t know how it went because it seemed short.

Curious to know if I’m being unreasonable in expecting my next Senior BA role to pay in the $110-130k range in the DC Metro Area.

As I got to the interview room there was a large executive chair facing away from me. The chair turned and on top was a mirror. When looking in the mirror I could see the cat. I am the cat. Have cleared HCL interview. Initially they offered 23 lpa (via proposed offer letter, to be approved by L4), but i requested to reconsider it for 25 lpa. After 5 days, they sent final offer letter of 19 lpa (stating they can offer max 50% as per L4 approval).

I don't have any other offer as of now. What should I do?

The number of the alumni and current students that go to top consulting firms FT& summer intern are countless even for a small class size.
Stern is way more than a finance school. Given its location, do you want to spend your 2 years in a rural area or heart of Manhattan? Location is almost everything for business school. (I have a friend in Cornell that frequently travels about 5 hours to NYC for events.)
