Gave interview in TCS, it went pretty well. At the end, the tech interviewer asked my expected ctc. After mentioning as 27lpa, he asked if can be negotiated, told yes.
After that didn't get any feedback, its been around 5days.

High performers like tough interviews. Maybe the company is bush league.
Happened to me it was fine. Sometimes they look for a cultural fit.
It’s still an evaluation of sorts. If I were you, I would ask questions about the role, expectations and what the day to day is. Don’t expect the interview to be only one sided

I was expecting a bit more in depth challenging questions...

I was relieved they didn’t but surprised they only asked about my background. Was expecting more behavioral/situational questions
They found someone else.
@GD1 why not cancel the interview if that was the case? Save both our times
CL1 is correct, most people suck at interviewing. My method depends on the role but when I interview candidates I mostly go for personality, behavior and situation questions . Personality is what makes or breaks teams and can highly affect the responsibilities of the role.
People can read a lot about you based on non-verbal cues and how you answer / address questions related to your background too. Situational / behavioral questions are not always necessary.
