Bump bc I wanna know
That's a field that a ton of people want to be in. So I would imagine the competition is insane and if you don't have experience, it'll be tough.
You might want to consider getting a real estate license and working for a Realtor briefly in an administrative role. That way you have *some* real estate experience and you can become more familiar with terminology and how deals come together.
Yes it is. Need to start from the bottom so hard to jump from another industry at the middle of your career.
What about post-MBA?
For investment management side, Generic MBA doesn’t make a difference unless your major/minor is related to Real Estate. Some firms will take that into consideration but expect to start from lowest levels even with an MBA. Again you can approach different careers (as mentioned in the other post) in Real Estate that don’t have a lot of requirements and build from there.
Also I would add there are tons of Real Estate roles (realtor, broker, property manager, transactions, asset management, development, etc) so some buckets within the industry are more flexible on requirements.
