I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. I am extremely over qualified for the position but it could possibly be a stepping stone and gives me the time to acquire SHRM certifications and possibly start taking classes to get my MBA. My question is those currently in an HR role, would this move make sense to you?

I cannot get an interview to save my life. I was so excited to get an externship summer after 2L with a small business and IP firm only to get yelled at on the phone a few times for not doing an assignment correctly. Mind you, I was working FOR FREE as it was a school connected externship. That made me never want to work in the law.

I submitted my documents and I am trying to contact the HR who scheduled my interview, but she is not picking up my call. My question is how soon can I expect the offer letter to be released? Dealing with some shit. Started a new job remotely (I’ll be moving there in Jan). First few weeks great. Now about 5 weeks in I’m getting feedback from my CD like “this isn’t where it needs to be” “we need you to push this” also snarky emails about my attempts at fixing the problem. It’s not hurt feelings so much (although tbh I am a little wounded) but how do I prevent this from turning into a downward spiral? I fear the kind of spiral where his opinion of me colors how he sees all future work
