I do think WFH has a ton to do with it. When I’m at a client site, it’s all very much in a silo. I’m at work, and the hours are long, but it’s kind of accepted that’s what you’re doing. When my wife is in the next room and I find myself saying over and over “almost done” (barely ever true) as it gets later and later, it does make you think: “what the hell am I doing”
I need to get friends first lol
Or not 😢

I don’t think it’s wfh so much as the existential crisis we are all facing. That coupled with the increased hours employers demanded to address the increase in demand… there was a reckoning of what is worth our time. And work relative to having to school your own children, care for aging parents, improving your home. etc, was pushed back into a role to support our lives rather than being the priority of it.

Yes. I used to never take PTO or prioritize family. Now I’m the opposite - I take PTO and delete my email app from my phone and focus on my family. My PTO has also been solely family focused - visiting aunts/uncles, spending time with my dad, etc.
So much so that now I barely want to work from the office/client site. I don’t mind going once in a while but not regularly/daily
