Same. Baby was born end of February and it was really good timing. Everything normal in the hospital and then 2 weeks out (right when my PTO ended) all the lockdowns started.
Spent so much time with the little one and my paternity leave started when my project ended.
We never felt little we're missing out on anything as nothing was happening anyway (e.g. before COVID people said: "go to the cinema as long as you can because you won't be able to go with a baby").
Backup care benefits have been extended as well due to COVID.
Right there with you. Had our daughter at the end of last January and it's been one hell of a silver lining to spend every day with her.
Couldn’t agree more! Working w a baby has been kind of nuts (both my wife and I work and we try our best to co-parent) but we get to spend so much time with our little guy
Same. My 14 month old is loving it and I’m loving being at home with her
Conversely, does anyone else just feel like they are way less efficient than their coworkers who don’t have kids? It’s starting to eat away at me
Yeah. In some ways it’s probably always like this bc you’ve got to reserve brain space and time for your kids.
I also think everyone, 11 months in, is feeling some kind of strain on this new way of living and working
