Coach
BDO sent me an offer for 125k for a senior associate level just 3 months ago. Deloitte is out here offering staff 90k in tech risk consulting. Idk why folks are saying 120k is ridiculous, it really isn’t these days.
Is this for HCOL area?
Yes. Based on my recent recruiting, M1 starting in HCOL for business process whether Sox or otherwise is 140k even with IT sprinkled in. There are companies that pay more but very few and you'll have to nail that interview perfectly. For reference, landed at 159k as M1.
Agree with SM1. For M1, that's a good amount. Also pre covid, M1 salaries were a lot lower which means senior salaries were worse.
It is amazing what people think they can get for what a 24 year old can be trained to do. (Read: yes, completely outrageous)
Of course it isn’t, workload, learning opportunities, growth and work life balance should be taken into account as well.
I would say big 4 scores well on learning opportunities and growth - the rest a bit less.
At the end of the day people need to make up their own balanced score card amongst these criteria.
120k is definitely doable. Barclays is hiring in Barclays Internal Audit and they pay around 120k for AVP role which is senior associate. DM is you want a referral.
2 YOE is bank. Wonder what they'd pay for 5+ yrs. You have to be fairly close or breaking 200k min. Either way, seems high and you'll likely have a difficult time trying to find a new position if you ever want to leave at a senior associate level.
I'm in HCOL, just moved from B4 earlier this year to a consulting firm in their Risk Advisory and SOX practice as an S1. Base comp $120k, not including annual and sign on bonuses.
$120k is definitely doable at the senior level in my experience (depending on COL) - feel free to dm with any questions!
That's why I jumped! KPMG bumped me up to only an $85k base in Oct 2021 (from $75k as an A2) with my promo to Senior. So a few months later in Feb 2022, I jumped to Non-B4 consulting with my 2 YOE and regular ol IA experience for a 40% bump to my current $120k base. Go get that money!
Jumped from Mid 90’s as a Senior 2 (3yoe) to Mid 120’s full remote to work in Risk but not IT Audit. It is doable. However, when I was talking to recruiters the most common range that was offered initially was the 110’s, so some negotiation is required to get to your range.
Yes from PA to industry. COL in SoFlo
Depends on COL, if HCOL and you have a couple years of experience under your belt then perhaps. However keep in mind that it may be a bit too high for a SA, I knew a first year manager who was making 130K in a HCOL area.
GT1 Am i getting underpaid?
HCOL S2 level. 4 YOE. IT audit: Base 108k TC: 118k
