It's possible, but tough. Similar to entry-level applicants. When the economy is down, employers are looking for a sure bet and somebody transitioning into a totally different industry is definitely not a sure bet. Just focus on your transferable skills and why they should pick you over somebody with lots of experience in your preferred industry.
I'm sure there are ways to pivot into another field, though this doesn't seem like a good time to even try it. It's not like there are parts of the economy that are doing really well, the bad job market seems to be hitting every sector. If there are things that interest you, you should explore them and perhaps begin a job search. You never know, maybe you could buck the general trend and find a great position in another field.
It’s for sure difficult but possible. I know someone who’s gotten 3 jobs this year

It’s hard but if you get a good contact and the right experience you’re golden
For me I was able to switch by using a 6s certificate and tailoring my resume
I made the switch during the last dry spell jobs wise
Don’t lose hope just focus on the skills that crossover
