Is it possible for someone without a degree or tech experience to get a fully remote entry level SDR or BDR role? If so, how? My sister’s boyfriend was fairly successful at a call center a few years ago but has only worked low wage jobs since. Any steady job would be a step up. My current employer wants 2+ YOE in a “professional environment” for the BDR role, which would likely be a barrier even with a referral.

I would definitely try it if you think he would be a good candidate. Call center experience is very relevant in this situation. I don’t see why it would not be considered professional.

A few months ago it’d probably be an easy transition. SDRs are typically considered much more of a cost than closers, so it’ll be very hard in this market

Agree with oracle - he should be able to get a BDR role at most companies but he’ll need to relate the experience he does have to sales or at least how it sparked his interest

Need advice- recently got an offer & currently going through the background check via HireRight. 1 of my experiences is an unpaid volunteering position abroad. I’m facing 2 problems:

(1) HireRight is asking for a name and number to verify my position, but the person that organized the volunteer experience is unresponsive to me and my emails/calls. I know not having a reference makes it look suspicious but I don’t feel comfortable putting someone as a reference w/o their approval. (Read comment)

In the recruiter interview I wasn’t asked where I live. The job is with a huge sports wear company in Los Ángeles and I live in Miami. Does not living in the same city not make the hiring manger want to hire you even though I would move to the jobs location ASAP? And if they ask where I live do I say I live in their city? Even though I don’t and it’s a contract position.

Resources for an enterprise BDR?

Hello All,

I recently got a job working as a BDR for an enterprise rep. We sell a SaaS product for other tech companies. It is a new realm for me as I have been primarily an AE throughout my career.

What resources are out there to help me learn how to work these accounts (500+ person companies)? looking for tips on everything from writing email cadences, sending video messages, and even qualifying leads during discovery calls.

Thanks for the help!
