It is possible, and many do it. If interested, contact your direct supervisor and propose your request. I recommend performing research into the matter prior to your meeting. Depending on the AFSC and Command, you may have some challenges getting approval. Additionally, approval may not be required, however having a conversation with your supervisor would still be best. Good luck.
Just have to get your commanders approval
What AFI states that? I could not find it
I did door dash for like 6 months. Had to prepare for my kid that was on the way
One of our ops guys worked part time in the ER
Yeah I delivered for dominos to make some extra cash. All you have to do is let your supervisor know and first sergeant and get approval. I was in the Air Force and had to get approval from my commander and let him know it’s not going to interfere with duty and he approved it. I don’t what branch you are but I would assume it would be similar
If you’re looking for something semi passive I recommend either a vending machine or atm
Being that you’re on base and there’s a lot of people moving and in out something real estate related would be a good idea . I just started looking into real estate photography and you can make 200- 600 per shoot you’ll have to invest in a camera and drone to really maximize your prices
Sorry no idea about this but some in the army do. Had no chance to do this with the marines though as it was always exhausting.
it is possible as long as it does not interfere with your military duties. Your Commander can approve it, but these are the areas of consideration that will hinder your ability to do both. Consider additional duties like TDYs, Staff Duty, Field Exercises, Schools, and other events that prevent you from being on time to work, conduct regular business hours duties, and account for late days or on-call duties. Your excuse to your leadership can never be I have a side hustle, it will not go well.
Depends on the side hustle and your current assignment. If you’re looking to work out of your garage on your own time, you’re good. If you’re looking for actual employment with a company you typically need command approval first. They’ll want to know who you’re working for and what kind of hours you’ll be working. As long as you’re performing well on you’re assignment most commands won’t have a problem with it. They really just want to know that you’re side hustle isn’t going to interfere with your work. I had a side hustle working for Academy (formerly Blackwater) in their shoot house and my command was cool with it.
Pretty sure they removed the reg stating you had to get it approved. If not, you can still do it. It’s all about your time management and you’re responsibility to the military first. I’ve side hustled my whole career. Lol
