Selected in a Big4 firm and one MNC shortlisting is going on, hopefully will be selected within 7-8 days. The MNC will be offering good package, but Big4 is just giving 20% hike in my salary and waiting for my decision to say yes or no,to proceed further with offer letter. Query :1. If I say yes to the Big4, and when they issue the offer letter, and then I reject, can they blacklist me. 2. Also if accept the offer and say no, in that case can they blacklist me from their firm.EY Deloitte KPMG PwC

Firms can “blacklist” but often done for someone who previously worked at the firm or would need to have done something quite inappropriate at an interview (or possibly in a public setting). People I know who have been “blacklisted” were as follows: (a) former employee who was accused of sexual harassment and separated from the firm. This happened in NY. Then 3 years later they applied for a position on the west coast. Needless to say the firm will not hire them again. (2) a summer intern who was underage, and was heavily intoxicated at a bar. As a coincidence there happened to be an EY event at the bar that the OMP was hosting. The intern crashed the event and made an a$$ of themselves. Needless to say they didn’t receive an offer and were told never to apply to the firm again (3) Professionals let go in the economic downturn in 2008. As the firm didn’t want that to be viewed as a head count reduction, those people were let go for cause. As such, the firm refused to hire any of them back. Whether that would be true if they reapplied today is unknown but I knew people who applied 3-6 years out who were not interviewed for that reason.
So it happens, but OP it doesn’t sound like you fit that model. What group and region are you looking to apply to? I may be able to help submit it so your resume simply by passes the system which may be causing your issues
Happy to try and help
What level are you? Unlikely that you’re blacklisted but if you’re just sending your resume to the same online posting a bunch of times, it’s getting looked at by the same screeners and they are taking the same point of view each time they see the app? Try to get referred instead
Thanks EY 1, I'll try that approach
Have you considered that this EY group has different standards than the group at KPMG?
Very presumptuous and rude to think that OP doesn’t meet EY standards. Most times applying online only doesn’t work so that’s probably OP’s issue, not capabilities
They might just be looking for someone with a different background.
It's not personal. Expect it can take months to find a job or land an interview. Consider how much you're applying. 5 applications a day, a week, a month.. callbacks vary. I say apply often and early for more chances of getting your foot in the door.
It’s different for everyone I guess. I hVe friends who never got interviews at Deloitte or PwC, but for me, I never got interviews at EY either lol
Have you asked why? Perhaps you said the wrong things at the interview. I have also seen people try to apply through various routes which typically backfires as it appears like gaming the system.
Haven't gotten an interview, that's why I'm curious
I probably got myself blacklisted when I left my last firm! Lol
