It’s a legit chance. But you still have to clear the bar. We say this to people who didn’t make the bar the first time but where we see growth potential. We don’t say “try again” to everyone.
If you didn’t get selected because you said something totally inappropriate during the interview they probably won’t want to talk to you ever. But if it just wasn’t a good match at that time it might be different.
Definitely, my recruiter told me to reach out around that time when I got rejected and asked
Pretty sure it’s ok. My second shot was around that timeline.
Thanks all! I was rejected because I didn’t pass the case interview. But the recruiter told me to reach out again. I am asking because I may be getting another offer soon, but still wants to do a second shot at McKinsey.
Mck folk here, advice on taking an offer at a tier 2 now and then still going back to interview with the mck team later? Is that something consultants should ask the team specifically or will that look bad?
Just don’t want leave a decent offer on the table for hopes of an a great opp later. OP I hope this may be relevant to your post.
Depends on why you weren’t selected
BA1. Could you please explain?
Yes.
C1 and M1, do you have any advice on asking for a second interview at around 9 months timeline? Have you seen other people done so? What are their situations?
Possible, yes. Probable, maybe
Got told the same thing regarding case. Made it to the final round and did well on one and poor on the last. Is that a nice let down or is this a legit chance where you’ve seen people make it through after the 2nd try?
Asking because I’m considering an offer from a tier 2. Would it be a negative if I take the offer and then apply again after 7 months?
Op - at what stage of the case interview were you rejected?
BA2 - seems fine.
