When it's your first couple weeks at an agency and you don't have any briefs yet, how do you spend your time? Feels inappropriate to just twiddle your thumbs

Get to know the brands you're going to be working on, look at past work, browse job folders, sit in on meetings, read up on strategy - or even better, see if you can get a full briefing from strategy/your CD. Get to know how the office works, learn the server system, talk to other creatives about how things generally work, gather templates, make sure your programs/fonts are working, etc.

Completely and totally miserable at my firm and just need a space to vent because my friends are tired of hearing about it. Has anyone else had a mentor (assigned to them by the Company) who seemed to have it out for you? I mean downright sabotage to make you look bad left and right. I didn’t realize it at first. She was fake friendly, but she was discrete too. Some of the executives thought she was amazing, but I had to clean up her work all the time. She wasn’t above me either on the chain of command. I work on a team that is 95% H1b (it’s really just me and 1 other on a team that’s 20+). The client has a few topics that are restricted to US citizens on US soil only. There’s a few team members that are visibly (not recently because it’s virtual) upset when asked to leave the room for these discussions to take place. Why would they get so offended?
