Hello Deloitte 🐠 20 YOE. Have referral for a content and marketing M role in cybersecurity -- the focus of my career pivot. Submitted my application today, but my referrer isn't in Cyber. Interested to widen my Deloitte Cyber network to get my resume in front of a human, since ATS has no vision or imagination. If you're willing to connect, please DM. So far, made it several interview rounds into roles with EY and Accenture. Optimistic, but want to be as proactive as possible. Thanks!

As a manager who hires and interviews routinely, an associate won’t be a differentiator especially if you are competing with CISSP holders . Look into cloud security, get a better offer - thank me later :) Then, take the CISSP when eligible . Of course, you lose nothing by taking the CISSP and passing the exam now . But don’t expect it to serve as an immediate leverage for offers.
Studied and passed CISSP in 3 months with no cyber experience while fully utilized. Just take it and get it over with; test difficulty is overhyped
I’d say no unless you have the years experience required outside of what you’ve mentioned above
Yep! Perfect time. You may have to be an “associate” of ISC for a while until you have the requisite years of experience but go for it!
Ok, so two contradictory views here. Outside of what I’ve mentioned, I just have a masters degree. I guess my question boils down to whether an Associate of ISC would help me get better offers from the industry?
From my perspective, I would not see that as a real differentiator as it would be difficult to market that to clients in any real way. I’d say you can find other areas to focus now and put that on the agenda for when you can hold the CISSP cert
