If you can get it, you should. It may not be helpful now, but you might need it someday for a future role. As I'm older, I have been working long enough for my friends to try to get into executive level positions in industry, only to be passed over for someone that had a CPA. The CPA was seen as a differentiator. You really don't want to be in your late 30s or in your 40s trying to pass the exam or regretting that you don't have it. Just get it done. It can never hurt to have it.
Absolutely, they are pushing for CPAs a lot more these days in many firms.
It depends what your goals are.
I have my CPA, am a senior consultant, and make less than my friend who is not a CPA, is working on her master's degree, and is a senior general ledger accountant. It's wack.
Yes I'm still at Connor Group. Yeah I know I'm getting screwed. I'm over here making money for my firm with every hour worked and then my friend is just an administrative expense to her small company. I don't get it. I don't want to leave just yet tho.
If you want to stay in accounting, yes
