Looking for recommendations for how I can transition back to consulting and mainly MBB.

Is there a way without cutting back on pay?
I’ve put myself up for L4 promo this cycle. Assuming I get it, what would be the best next steps to optimize for long-term growth/TC?
My understanding is that L5->L6 is extremely painful at Google. It may be easier to leave for a handful of years and gain managerial experience before returning.
L4->L5 is less challenging; however, I’m under the impression I can do this quicker at another company (if I leave after being freshly promo’d) AND get higher TC.

I would prob use ISC2 if I went the self paced route with the money. But I would honestly take a bootcamp and then study some more by taking practice exams, reviewing right and wrong answers, and studying domains I am weakest in. Rinse and repeat.
Try https://youtu.be/LafS7wM7uOk Larry’s boot camp. For every concept he adds a funny story so we remember it well. I do not recommend self preparation because CISSP subject is mile wide and inch deep and takes lot more self discipline and uninterrupted learning hours to complete the syllabus. Boot camp expedites learning process and can get u cert in a week. Then practicing on actual concepts in real world should be the focus. Simplilearn, Cybrary may offer self prep material at nominal cost. ISC2 may have one too.
