Is making a lateral move (salary wise) generally a bad move?

It could be an opportunity to make somewhat better work but I know agencies are super stingy with raises so I fear I’ll still be at my current salary in two years.

I moved to my current company just a month back but Amazon process was in progress, so leaving in probation. I don't think they considered TC of my current company (17 LPA from 7.5 LPA) as it's been just a month. Any views regarding the offer and TC offered.
