Hello Sharks, Hope all are doing good,
I am a associate java developer having knowledge and experience on Java, Spring mvc, Spring boot, Hibernate, MySQL. Recently I have joined another IT company. The surprising thing is they are providing training on Scala Programming language .I don't have any knowledge about Scala Programming, Slick and Postgresql. Is Scala developer having good future and demand. Can I better to try for other company to stay in java technology only. EY Infosys Cognizant

MBA is not mandatory at all. I myself moved from hardcore sales to tech as a business analyst and now i am a product manager. You just need to work on building your resume and work on cracking the interviews. For that you need to understand the profile thoroughly, work on capstone projects and talk to PM folks in your network.
A small suggestion from my side to try to move to PO/BA roles within your current org. and then try to move outside.
How does this matter ? Even after adding the designation as Product Owner/Manager intensity of the calls does not increase at all
Coz your resume does not craft the experiences. Its important - like if you are a backend developer you cannot boast about the front end development on ur resume and expect to get a job. Recruiters understands. Btw i am a dev turned PM, and its been 2 years i am playing this role. And getting a lot of calls in current market. Whats your YOE? There is a good offerings in market for Product managers atleast. Dm me.
Hello folks, sorry on a personal trip. I will dm you folks on Monday.🙂
Hi, just chiming in seeing the discussion relevant to my question. I've been a QA and have 10years experience. My last project of 4.5yrs I did BA work voluntarily as company didn't have role. Even started upskilling in domain knowledge and everything a BA or PO would do.
Everyone in the company thinks of me as BA and I've shown my aspiration multiple times but my current company won't give me official BA or even PO roles. It's always QA officially.🙈
Can I move to PO role with next company? If so, shall I portray as being a BA in resume? So far getting no calls.
And I don't have MBA, just very good techno functional skills, communication skills with 10yrs experience.
