Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase
I'll be joining tw as UI Lead, soon.
I'm a javascript/react developer since inception of my career & haven't worked much on CICD/JENKINS and similar technology.
Should I be worried that as a lead I don't know these and will it affect by job security?
Ps- I'm good at UI,js, react etc.

I did. It did definitely help with mental health. I don’t work less but I’m more productive and relaxed. I enjoy what I do much more now.
In terms of longevity this career still scares me sometimes, but I have much more clearer plan now. I’m focus on getting enough recognition and network to start freelancing or maybe even open a small studio.
I have also a little bit more energy to learn and improve my skills. I really don’t think I could learn how to be a better art director in terms of concepting I knew how to do the job and felt that was more of a matter of opportunity than anything I could control beyond that point.
That’s personal tho.
UX/UI to me has always been more interesting. You’re actually making a real thing, a real product. Not just some BS advertising trying to convince someone to buy the thing.
Or a banner no one will see.
UX has more longevity for sure. Not the sexiest projects but I now have time to pursue them because my hours aren't insane. I haven't had to think about a banner in 8 months.
The latter! I read a few helpful books too. Freelance was a lot easier to get in the door. Bootcamps are a ripoff.
