You don’t see a lot of custom dev in cyber.
It’s mostly commercial vendors, like Crowdstrike, Okta, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Splunk, etc. etc.
Everybody has the same security challenges. Why build when you can buy?
I don't work in infosec, but have a baseline understanding of the space. For scanning packets, sklearn will be too slow. For stuff that can run in batches, you're fine to use it. If your data is massive, you may also want to consider what spark infra your company/client has, but only if the naive solution with sklearn turns out to be too slow for it. Lastly don't forget your data prep isn't free... sec work relies a lot on graph features, which can be compute heavy to derive.
