No, but it is very generalist. You could start out on a PMO engagement and then get thrown into a product strategy, then operational transformation. That’s why you’re gettin conflicting info…because we do fu*king everything and everyone’s experience differs.
I like tbh. Good people. Pretty interest work. WLB isn’t that bad. Work 50 hours a week give or take.
Transformation architecture is NOT PMO. Transformation Design & Execution (TD&E) is PMO. TA is strategy and performance improvement.
What’s called transformation delivery now? Architecture ?
What is PMO?
Thank you for your response!
Thanks - appreciate the replies!
What’s the difference between transformation delivery vs transformation architecture
Is transformation architecture sit within EYP?
No
PMO projects are delivered by Transformation Delivery, which is a completely different group with distinctive capabilities under Business Transformation.
Transformation Architecture doesn't deliver PMO projects and is more concerned with functional operating model design, functional strategy design (organization wide strategy and operating model are done by EYP), Transformation Program Design, Business Reinvention, etc.
In practice, the line between Business Design and Transformation Architecture is somewhat blurred in my opinion... People tagged to either could end up staffed on projects that are within the fields of play of either of the two sub competencies because the capabilities required for the two are very similar.
Business Transformation is a major sub-competency under Business Consulting which replaced what used to be called "Performance Improvement". Under BT, there are four major sub-competencies: Business Architecture, Business Design, Experience & Innovation, and Transformation Delivery.
The entire PMO practice within the firm got rebranded as Transformation Delivery and they typically don't work on projects that are not PMO related...
OP! I’m about to start interviewing for this role as well. Can you share any insight on how I can best prepare, how was your process?
