Is there another round of layoffs coming or just rumor mill?

I'm not one to advocate people being fired, but how the fuck are these refs still employed??

My brother is a mechanic with 10+ years experience but was laid off due to COVID. He's having a hard time even finding jobs to apply for and asked me for advice. I don't even know what someone can do without a degree. He has valuable hard skills but I just don't think there's a demand in NYC right now. Should I advise him to go to school? He'd have to fully finance his degree and I'm just not sure if it's worth it for him to start over at the bottom, or what industry he'd even fit in...

So AT Kearney today laid off newly hired high performing associates defying all the promises made during hiring and review calls. 😕

I wanted to be supportive CHAZ/CHOP here in Seattle but I can’t be anymore. This is no longer a BLM movement protest (which I fully support & protest with) but instead is true anarchy. 1 dead & 1 injured (critical condition) this weekend and tonight over 24 shots fired already tonight in the area. When I first went down to this area last week I felt safe, today I went down there & was scared out of my mind. Seattle get your sh*t together.

I didn’t get laid off from Havas like so many others did yesterday, but I want to know how long I can work at this agency without losing my reputation. Industry people, I need real talk. How much like fools does the ad industry consider people who work at Havas? Is it understood in this climate that somtimes you just need a job or do we look like talentless sellouts for working here? When recruiters see books from a Havas employee, do they toss it straight into the garbage?
