The real estate needs to be justified. That’s the only thing I’m coming up with because the cost of having employees in the building has to be astronomical.
Yep and everything in the city that office workers support - cafes, public transport, tolls, petrol, office clothes and shoes, makeup, lunchtime shopping, hotels for f2f events … society needs people to spend money on these things or else cities wither and die.
You think that because it is. Remote jobs have all but dried up thanks to RTO mandates. It happened because companies wanted to exert more control over employees and the pandemic ending (or people no longer caring about it) gave them the opportunity to.
I hardly EVER see remote roles anymore. Everything I see is hybrid at best but most jobs seem to be back fully in the office.
It's not just you. The numbers have surely gone down and I think the general trend is RTO.
