It’s my first holiday season working for the federal government, and I’m still figuring out the whole schedule. Is it normal for the office to be so quiet this time of year? Half my team is out, and I feel like I’m the only one actually working.

How long is too long to try to push back a start date? Getting a formal offer early next week but trying to keep that big law bonus if possible. Firm pays out bonuses Dec 30 & I have a vacation scheduled Dec 19-23 (and was planning on working remotely the week after too). Ideally want to get EOY bonus or negotiate for a signing bonus but is it too much to push for signing bonus and those weeks off? I'm open to working remotely those two weeks but know that may not be the best when I start.

Although summer vacation is about over for some of us, what do you do as summer jobs (to get by when school is out)?

So I had 3 deals scheduled to either close end of May or mid June which were all pushed to end of June/beginning of July. Which is when I have my first vacation planned for over a year (I take 0 time off). My whole family is flying up and we’re renting a cabin near me. What do I do? I’m running one of the deals, semi running the other one and not doing much leading on the other one. Note: I was supposed to not be running any of these. Do I find a back up first or tell the partners first?

Hello, I have accepted an offer at a competitor company and sent in my resignation letter. My start date is 5 weeks from now so I put in my end date 4 weeks from date letter was signed. The manager said I had to leave the job in 2 days and the company can only play 2 weeks of work. Is it normal how they do that?

I received a verbal offer for a VP position at CCB line of business at JPMC in NYC two weeks ago. The recruiter asked for salary expectations but there was no number set. How long does it take to adjudicate a closer investigation for secret clearance?

Booz Allen fish…Trying to gain some data for comparison. How many people are on your admin team? How is team morale? What’s turnover like? Are employees awarded or recognized for their work? How often? What about promotions? Are they happening regularly? TIA!

2 year 10 months experience as an financial analyst in the industry. Deloitte has an offer of 86k coming in as a consulting analyst. Did not asked about signing bonus yet. Also received an industry offer of 91500.
According to recruiter, I’ll be a high level analyst and most likely be a C next year. Might not be able to match industry offer cus lack of experience to be a C yet.

Anyone work at Guidehouse and know next year’s benefits? Have job offer but they won’t tell me if benefits will be the same for 2023.

Do Leidos, SAIC, and other mostly-fed consulting businesses pay bonuses to all levels? If so, what does a typical bonus target look like? Booz Allen does not pay bonuses until you get to the Senior Associate level (1 step below Director) and I think that impacts employee performance and work ethic pretty dramatically. I’m wondering if not paying bonuses is common to federal contracting because of how the contracts or priced, or if this is something unique to Booz Allen.
