It's so difficult looking for jobs in the current market. It's oversaturated, and most employers put "no experience required" or "fresh graduate welcome", and yet still look for applicants with at least 5+ years of experience. To Hiring Managers, what is your thought process in making these postings? Do you not consider any applicant with good amount of credentials (academics, projects, research, etc.) to give them at least a chance to work?

It's a good question. I had a friend that interviewed for an PM AV manager role. He was sure he had it because they wanted a experience person. They told him that in the interview. When he didn't get it, the feedback was they wanted someone with less experience. He couldn't believe the feedback he was given.

I told him you never know what people are thinking unless you are on the other side.

It’s very strange to me too. Having a junior worker is beneficial… But a lot of times experience doesn’t just mean employment experience, maybe they want someone who did a co-op or volunteer work or at least something to show they’re reliable.

Hi All,

I would like to know which opportunity would be good for me.
8+ YoE in prime brokerage, collateral management.
I currently have an offer with org. A, reputed company in IB with CTC 17.5L.
Im looking at a potential opportunity for international mobility to Ireland with Org. B. Expecting the interview this week.
I'm confused as to if I should continue with Org. A as it's the company I've always wanted to be a part of. Also personally have always wanted international opportunity.

Looking for tips from seniors. I'm at A1 level at a litigation firm, stepping out of the deer-in-headlights phase. With the Partners assigning work to me in teams of 2-3, there's potential for growth. But with the sheer amount and depth of work on each case it's challenging to take on a more "adult" role. I often find myself in a more assistive role, either by my choice or the Partners'.
How can I accelerate my progress? What are Partners' and Seniors' expectations from year one associates?

Those of you with a degree in computer science (or similar), what do you do for work and how did you end up doing that?

I just had an L7 sdm interview with Google. Seemed to go very well except one of two system design interviews. The one went great and one went ok until they asked me to estimate the cpu/ram/server needed to handle the workload. I could give a great answer. We shall see.

Should I leave my first permanent job as a team leader of 4 DPs in a FMCG business (only been there for 4 months) to join a huge Tech business for a 12months contract?

They offer me 60% more money than my permanent role. Circa 2000 dollars every month in my pocket

However, I am worried if I accept the tech role and I do not become permanent I will be looking again for a job in 12-24 months and my CV won't be showing a managerial position. Won't be showing any progress.

Anyone made the transition from NYC to Austin?

I find myself asking why I am in NYC when everything is so damn expensive. Making good money, but limited on savings and quality of life due to the HCOL. Or recs for other cities for that matter.

Hello, I'm hearing product management is the space to be if you want to see a considerable bump in pay. What is the path forward to reach that role? I have experience as a project manager, scrum master, and BA and I was hoping these combined could land me a product manager role, but it seems like companies require extensive prior experience as a product manager already - so, what is the best way to get my foot into that role?

Considering pivoting into tech. Currently considering Project Management or Presales tech. I understand the general roles of each. Presales seem to make more than PM, so I am leaning towards presales. Curious if any PMs considered presales and why you decided to do Project management instead
